About Theatre Tokens

For more than 40 years, Theatre Tokens have been helping people share the magic of live performance. Whether it's a first trip to the theatre, a long-awaited West End visit, or an unforgettable night out with family and friends, Theatre Tokens are the perfect way to create and share memorable experiences.

As the UK's only nationwide not-for-profit theatre gift card, every Theatre Token purchased helps support and champion theatre across the country. Launched in 1984 by the Society of London Theatre, the scheme was created with the simple ambition to encourage more people to experience the joy of live performance through the gift of theatre.

Today, Theatre Tokens are accepted at more than 300 theatres across the UK, from iconic West End venues to beloved local playhouses. They can be used to purchase tickets for thousands of performances each year, giving recipients the freedom to choose the shows, dates and venues that suit them.

Making it easy to give the gift of theatre has always been at the heart of what we do. Theatre Tokens are available from more than 3,500 retail locations nationwide, as well as online, making them a convenient present for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, Christmas, and every occasion in between.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we're also committed to making responsible choices. Our gift cards are 100% recyclable, biodegradable and responsibly manufactured, helping theatre lovers make a more sustainable choice when gifting.
